Oscar Delp Scouting Report

Delp has a stunted route tree, like many NCAA tight ends. But he showed promise when given chances. He has a superior receiver to ball carrier transition, getting outside his frame, in stride, and then up to velocity at a terrifying pace. If he had more volume, I would feel comfortable selling him as a bad ball specialist, because he digs so many passes out of the dirt or pulls them from outside his frame. Delp also shows a plus feel for sit type routes, finding optional space with good leverage — quickly. However, you rarely get to see this prospect in man cover, or in patterns where he can influence a defender. Delp can be physical inside the seam when he does get man cover, demonstrating a knack for keeping squat type defenders from slowing vertical progress. There are times, however, where he seems less aware of the players around him. And for all of his physical ability, he doesn’t gauge the ball or defender as well in contested catch situations. Delp takes some heat for his blocking, but in the five 2025 exposures I have, he was among the better blockers in the TE group. For a TE like Delp, his crack blocks, sift blocks, and combo-climb blocks are most relevant. Delp can track a moving block well . He is highly aware of gaps that need sealing, and when he gets under pads he can really move a linebacker. Which is probably why his best blocking tape at Y is composed of down blocks and second level blocks.
