Monroe Freeling stormed the bog boards late in the draft as fans started to notice an SEC a left tackle with a major athletic ceiling. He took a strong 2025 step forward, especially in pass protection, but was it enough?

Tape Scouting Report

Freeling is a zone-friendly mover who gets out of his stance quickly, mirrors edge speed and recovers with active hands. His pass pro is coming along nicely, even if he relies on his athleticism more than technique against the best competition. In the run game, he plays higher than he should giving up balance and leverage on gap and man type plays, where one can see lunging and vertical play on tape. Entering the NFL his biggest issues will be cleaning things up technically on these fronts.

Athletic Scouting Report

Freeling is everything a scout wants to see in an OT: a huge interior frame with unusual movement skills for 320-plus. his strength and movement metrics are the top of any class, and if/once he learns to play under better control, he is built like most dominant OT1 types.

Draft Stock Report

Freeling will be a first rounder no matter what, and carries a firm Red Chip grade here. But right tackle prospects with equally impressive athletics and better standing records will probably go before him.
