L.T. Overton Scouting Report
L.T. Overton’s 2025 didn’t end how he’d planned. His pressure production drifted downward. He finished the season strong. Looked good at the Senior Bowl. But washed it away after a poor showing at the NFL combine. He’s a prospect in limbo.
Tape Scouting Report
L.T. Overton is one of the more disciplined defenders on the board. He’s rarely one to over-pursue, especially through the backfield where he takes efficient angles and observed cut-off leverage. He’s a solid pass rusher, especially through A and B gaps, where he uses clubs, rips, and frequent bull rush techniques to get into the ball-carrier or quarterback. Overton has a crowbar type frame and he has been great at generating lift and staying underneath his blockers, and is especially adept at defeating jump sets the same as run blocks. He’s actually observant when asked to drop, but it’s not his forte. L.T. needs to update and craft a better or more diverse set of rush moves if he wants to see significant time outside the fives, though, and that is where the money is made for players like him.

Overton got to Alabama with a really unique frame. One that showed the promise of developing into a odd-front DE type. That never really emerged. So after showing up to he combine at 275 he’s in no-mans land, because his high-waisted proportions are not cut out to play the edge straight up. He has loads of strength on tap, but that kind of game needs weight behind it. Overton is not fast, but can be quite sudden on the inside, and that is why we’d hoped to see him gain upper body mass through the seasons. Even though he can stand and make some plays in the open field, he’s simply doesn’t have the change-of-direction speed you’d want to see back there.
Draft Stock Report
L.T. Overton was a highly recruited player for the Crimson Tide. But he leaves college probably looking at a ticket to the fringe in his hand. He’s a Gold Chip player, who will probably leave the board early in the fourth round to a team in need of power edge to staff early downs. If he is lucky, he’ll get looks as a developmental 34 END, but he’s positioned himself as a 43 edge through the draft process, so that ship may have sailed.
