Jermod McCoy Scouting Report
McCoy broke out big after after transferring from Oregon State, to become the ball-hawking cover artist we saw in Tennessee in 2024; the ACL recovery is the main variable attached to an otherwise premium cover prospect.
Tape Scouting Report
McCoy is advanced coverage player with strong route recognition, timing in zone, quality press technique and real catch-point competitiveness. One thing that sets him apart is how naturally he tracks, triggers on, and takes the ball. With Jermod, the obvious main concerns are medicals, some grabbiness when stacked vertically, and inconsistent finishing as a tackler/run supporter. But those never hold elite cover-men down in the draft.
Athletic Scouting Report
Jermod McCoy has the raw ingredients of a true stud cornerback, with top-tier linear and recovery speed and is greased to phase well for his size. Former track/jump athlete whose movement skills, fluid hips and body control play as well on tape as the track. Outside of a somewhat lean build, McCoy’s what you want to see on your defensive boundary.
Draft Stock Report
Jermod McCoy just needs to prove he is healthy to capitalize on the Red Chip rank we gave him. If he can workout, flash his athleticism, and clear medicals, he might make a push for the top-10 based on his tape and traits. And like Stingley, to name one, GMs won’t wait based on a lost season for a difference maker in coverage.
Missed the entire 2025 season due to a knee injury, raising durability questions.
