Chris Brazzell Scouting Report

Chris Brazzell II is a dream project in the right scenario. He has massive, basketballer type frame. And numbers in 2025 that are nearly as outsized. Shipping in from Tulane, CBII had a great final season at Tennessee. But his route running is only as good as you’ll see in Tennessee these days. So this young WR will ride on traits.

Tape Scouting Report

Chris Brazzell’s tape hints at a prospect who could developed into an NFL WR, but the tape is mostly traits. The Vols offense leaves plenty of breathing room to improvise, so his routes are less than precise. And Brazzell almost exclusively splits to one side of the offense. Chris has a lot of breaks at the top of the stem that amount to pass interference by NFL standards. His route tree is limited to hitches, slants and short digs or curls, and occasional crossers. Brazzell does little to ornament the route or manipulate the CB. And he doesn’t seal his leverage as well as he could on possession style routes. His drops reduced in 2025 but the tape shows the same lapses and body catches. His press release is a very mixed bag, with some promising reps showing off his physicality, and some reps where he gets far too outside of his frame and is driven well off course.

Athletic Scouting Report

However, he has a bona fide gift for finding the ball in chaos and can be physically dominant on balls in the air. Especially in the release and the stem he tends to be too physical, but he has the raw leverage and power to be a brute of a WR. And his best soft skill is his timing when the ball is in the air, where he shows a genuine “get the ball” attitude. All of that said, Brazzell is also comically proportioned and fast at full stride. If he gets space, CBII can absolutely gallop. He’s never going to be a jackknife route runner, his frame is not built for it. But he can break down at the hips to get in and out of a route. He should time well in the 40, but his type of speed will require a missed tackle if he is going to gain yards after the catch.

Draft Stock Report

In the right situation he could produce in role as pure field stretcher while he learns an NFL offense, because his raw physical traits will immediately tilt the field for the defense. Weighing all of the positives and negatives, Chris Brazzell should by all rights be at least a top 75 player, if for no other reason than his unique physical profile,
