Caden Curry Scouting Report
Caden Curry waited a while to play at Ohio State and made the most of it in 2025. He notched double digit sacks and TFLs. He was a First Team All-Big Ten edge defender and a Lombardi awards finalist and a Silver Bullet award winner. How far that takes him in the NFL draft is to be seen.
Tape Scouting Report
Caden Curry is admittedly fun to watch. He is the real deal kind of whistle to whistle defender you like see. He’s a disciplined body on the front He sets up an edge as well as anyone, keen to take an inside grip to prevent blockers from slipping him. And he anchors very well. With a limited arsenal of pass rush moves, he favors bull rushes and rip type efforts to get himself off the block. He’s also great at knowing when to use his bursts of speed. Curry also walks a fine line between aggression and restraint and has a solid understanding of the backfield. We’d like to see him diversify how he creates pressure above all, because he’s not the athlete who can live on timing and a couple of tricks.
Athletic Scouting Report
Curry’s best trait is his strength, which he generates easily with his stocky frame. He’s also got a nice first step and plus grip strength. That said, it’s hard not to notice his size and frame disposition are outliers for edge type prospects. He’s on the shorter side measuring at 6’2.7″ and borders linebacker weight at 257. Edge prospects can play at this weight, but they usually play with a gamut of speed techniques that require the kind of athleticism Curry doesn’t flash. He’s also a bit thick through the middle making his moves around defenders cut-off and angular. Finally, he also measured with incredibly short arms, which is hard to get over if you aren’t a top-tier athlete.
Draft Stock Report
There are a lot of really good ingredients in Caden Curry. And NFL defensive coordinators will want him on the squad. He’s carrying a Pink Chip rank as we enter the draft’s last half. One that reflects moderate developmental upside, a very high functional floor, and immediate special teams contributions. In short, you are getting a good football player with Caden Curry, and that is a good option around the break of the 5th round.
